Overview

The eGuardian - Model B-2AB Automatic Bollard is a retractable bollard that operates using an electric motor with variable frequency drive and utilizes a PLC to control inputs from access control systems, product safety and position sensors and emergency access systems. When hit by a car with an energy of 30KJ the top of the bollard will break away from the rest without any major damage to the rest of the bollard mechanism. This 20"(or 32" or 39") tall x 10" diameter bollard was designed to break away in case of a car impact. Available in a powder-coated finish of choice.

Operating safety |
Bollard lowers in case of power failure (standard). 3M reflective stripe on the upper part of the bollard. No mechanism in the bollard casing; all mechanical and electronic parts are under the ground level in the mechanical part of the second casing. Movement time controlled by PLC in control panel. Moto-reductor includes thermal protection. Control Panel includes breaker. Bollard is fully waterproof and is designed to operate submerged for short periods of time. Drainage must be supplied to drain the case at the rate of 1 gal / minute. |
Impact security |
Bollard can sustain an impact of 30,000 joules in the direction of travel without damage (and continue to operate). Impact is dependent on number and type of screws used to secure the bollard. |
Performance |
Time for bollard to raise - less than 3 seconds. Lowering and raising can be independently adjusted. |
Reliability |
120 operations per hour; 1,500,000 operations MCBF. |

Installations
Automatic Bollard Systems provides installation supervision services or complete installation services for the eGuardian Automatic Bollard.
Before any concrete is poured, please ensure that bollard cases are:
- Installed level to ground and each other (even on sloped roads).
- Connected to a drainage system that will allow bollard case to drain at a rate of 1 gallon/minute.
- Positioned so that the electrical conduit openings face the curb.
- One conduit between bollard and controller for motor and coder wires (supplied).

- Bollard Finish Color (RAL Color Chart or color match) - powder coated.
- 3M Reflective Stripe Color (White/Yellow) and/or LED lights crown.
