The Breakaway starts from the raised position in most applications. Upon receiving a signal from an access control system or push button, the bollard(s) lower simultaneously to provide access for one vehicle. After the vehicle has cleared the safety zones, the bollard(s) raise to the upright position.

A LOW Impact Bollard for Low-Use Applications!

The eGuardian - Model B-2MB Manual Bollard is a retractable bollard that lowers by unlocking and applying manual pressure and raises using a manual jack.

This 20", 32" or 39" tall x 10" diameter bollard is ideal for applications that require a break-away bollard with infrequent use.

Description

  1. Casing; Material: steel.
  2. Adjustable guides.
  3. Internal pneumatic Jack or counterweight system.

Some elements of this bollard are :

  1. Securing cover with 4 shredding screws.
  2. Soft polyurethane slides.
  3. mechanical carriage.
  4. Securing bollard on moving carriage with one or 2 shredding screws.

Bollard type

Manual retractable bollard.
Operation

Lowered by unlocking and pushing down using foot pressure; raised by unlocking and being lifted by a gas jack installed in the casing. Optional counterweight system does not require a jack.
Guidance

Four 1.5" thich, low-friction polyurethane slides ride on two adjustable stainless steel guides (10 NC 12 tempered 65 daNmm 2).
Materials

Bollard and carriage made of steel. Bollard secured to the carriage by AL screws. Flat cover made of cast iron (1/2" thick) secured with 4 AL screws.Casing is 24" x 24" x 40" (for the 24" unit) made of carbon steel and reinforced with two external steel straps.

Includes 1/4" nylon brush.
Corrosion Protection

Bollard casing and cover electroplated after sandblasting, powdercoated in any RAL color.
Safety

3M reflective stripe on the upper part of the bollard. Patented shredding screws system for the bollard and the cover minimizes damage in case of accidental impact. No mechanism in the upper part of the bollard; all mechanical parts are 1" under the ground level when bollard is in the upper position. Bollard is fully waterproof and is designed to operate submerged for short periods of time. Drainage must be supplied to drain the case at the rate of 1 gal / minute.
Impact security

Bollard can sustain an impact of 15Kj to 30Kj joules in the direction of travel without damage (and continue to operate). Over this effort screws will shred.
Performance

Can be raised or lowered within 10 seconds of unlocking.
Reliability

120 operations per hour; 1,500,000 operations Mean Time Between Failures (MCBF).

Installations

Proper Installation is Critical!

Automatic Bollard Systems provides installation supervision services or complete installation services for the eGuardian Manual Bollard.Before any concrete is poured, please ensure that bollard cases are:
  • Installed level to ground and each other (even on sloped roads).
  • Connected to a drainage system that will allow bollard case to drain at a rate of 1 gallon/minute.
  • Positioned so that the guide rails are parallel to the direction of vehicle traffic.
