The Breakaway starts from the raised position in most applications. Upon receiving a signal from an access control system or push button, the bollard(s) lower simultaneously to provide access for one vehicle. After the vehicle has cleared the safety zones, the bollard(s) raise to the upright position.

Breakaway Bollards

The Breakaway Bollard Series is available in automatic retractable, manual retractable, and fixed (stationary) models. Models are 20" or 32" tall (above ground surface) and 10 3/4" in diameter. Manufactured with a special alloy steel, these bollards can restrict access into sensitive areas on a governement, commercial or private property. The retractable models can be manufactured with a hardened and break-away anchoring system. With the break-away anchoring system, patented shredding bolts are used and allow the bollards to easily "break" off its housing to minimize injury to people in vehicles and damage to the vehicle and bollard.Simply re-attach the bollard with a set of new shredding bolts and the bollard will be operational again. This is ideal for low security applications where a visual barrier is most important. With the ability to resist a hight impact, and inherent safety and reliability only available with electric bollards, the eGuardian Breakaway Series is ideal for most applications where light to hight security is required.
